Megan Stacey Mannning did not make her grade 8 volleyball team but that was one of the few setbacks in her volleyball career. Commencing with her years at Widdifield Secondary, she lead her team to an OFSSA Gold in 2001. While there, she was named Female Athlete of the Year in 2000 & 2001 and set the record for most points per game average at 6.7
At Nipissing U, Megan made the record books in her rookie year by setting three OCAA records – most points in a season ( 301), most points in a match (31) and best points per game average ( 6.7). Those last two records stilll stand.
In 2005, she broke two OCAA volleyball records with most kills in a season (250) and compiling 308 offensive points during the 2004-05 season.
In four years at Nipissing, her level of play saw her named a Canadian College Athletic Association every year. She also left seven OCAA scoring records in her wake including the all-time scoring record. She also amassed 1028 points for 5th overall and ranks fourth in kills with 821.
During he final uear at Nipissing, the team had a 14-0 record and won its first provincial title.
